Adopt Me Page 9a features Cinder

Before you give a dollar to anyone check them out, Its free, to see, and Puppymillrescue, Inc is listed.  Search Guide Star's database of more than 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations.

Cinder is estimated to be 8-10 years old. He is a black, male, 3 lb 4 oz
Pomeranian. As you can see from his photos, he is an adorable little imp.
However, Cinder is a special needs boy with numerous chronic health problems.
He came to us with severe dental disease; collapsing trachea; severe luxating patellas; possible torn ACL; bad coat and skin condition; elevated liver enzyme levels and he was cryptorchid. He was evaluated by our vet and it was determined after repeated blood work, that he could be sedated for a dental and neuter. He lost 13 rotten teeth. He was started on thyroid replacement therapy for his skin and coat condition and placed on meds for his collapsing
trachea. Once he recuperated from his surgery, we took him to an orthopedic specialist to see if there was anything that could be done about his crippled legs. Sadly, due to his age, surgery was not recommended.
For the moment Cinder's medical conditions have been stabilized as much as possible. His forever home will need to understand that Cinder will always be a special needs pup. He will have to have his blood tested regularly to check thyroid levels and he will have to have his medications given as needed for his
collapsing trachea. In addition, he cannot be around large dogs nor children, due
to his fragility. Cinder is the tiniest most delicate boned Pom I have ever seen. However, with proper care and medications to keep his health issues stabilized, he should be around for many years to come.

Cinder does not realize he has problems and is waggy tailed and playful. He is full of life and happiness. Although he tends to crawl across the floor like a crab due to his crippled legs that doesn't stop him from going where he wants to go when he wants to go. He even takes off in a run outside when he is feeling really frisky, which is quite often. He thinks he is a 100 lb dog and will
challenge any and all comers no matter how big they are. Cinder has to be watched carefully so that he doesn't bite off more than he can chew both literally and figuratively. He lives to eat and play. Cinder likes to be held when he's in the mood and he does not like being groomed or bathed or bothered when he is taking a nap. He is a very independent little guy, who knows what he wants and what he doesn't want and he lets you know it. If you are considering pushing
that ADOPT button for Cinder, you better be prepared for a challenge. He is a wonderful little fella, but a full time job. : )
If you have any questions, please contact me, his Foster Mom, at
landerslblanders@aol.com. Cinder is being fostered in North Central Texas

"9-27-07 Dr. John Perkins
Cinder presented for evaluation of bilateral luxating patellas. Rt side high grade 3/4, bordering on 4/4. Left side grade 3/4. Advise needs sx(?) correction. Advise needs hip xrays for possible Legg Perthes. Hips appear OK. May have partially torn ACL on Rt side. Unsure of age of patient. If patient middle aged or older then MLP (?) repairs of questionable value at this point in time."

They did rule out Legg Perthes when Dr. Perkins saw the xrays that Dr. Ogden had already done.

Cinder is a special needs fella and always will be with his crippled little legs, plus his collapsing trachea. I will be doing an update for the website soon.

Thank you all for agreeing to try to help this sweet little old man. He definitely deserves it. Just wish we could "fix" him.
