Adopt Me Page 21

Well it is now Summer and
still Gracie waits
Gracie O'Malley is an approx. 10 year old female Jack Russell. She is a
big Jack, weighing in at about 25 pounds. She was a breeder in a mill
for at least 8 years. She is remarkably healthy considering this. She
has been free 2 years.
She is a loving and very smart girl. She has learned many words and
watches me for cues on what is expected next. She is a doll of a dog and
is not nearly as aggressive as many Jacks. She lives with many foster
dogs here. She will put a dog in it's place if they bug her though...she
is a Jack after all. She is doing well with the potty training and will
use the potty pad that I have down for the old girls if needed. She uses
a dog door to the fenced yard for most of her business.

Gracie prefers to be right where I am. She is my shadow and does still
have a bit of separation anxiety. But with routine it has diminished
greatly. She does best if she knows exactly what to expect and also that
she is not separated from you if you are at home.
I work and she is confined in my absence. She has come to accept this .
Initially when she first came here she had such anxiety it was awful and
I came home to a poop and urine mess.
That is no longer the case. She also came to me on anxiety meds which
she also no longer needs. She has moved beyond that now:)) Gracie had
been in at least 2 maybe 3 homes before coming into foster care with PMR.
She is still a work in progress and is slowly becoming the Jack she was
born to be. She has had other helpers along the way. We have all played
a part in her evolution.
If you are interested in this wonderful girl, please e-mail for more
info . I am her foster mom. We are in Upstate NY.
Fondly,
Gracie O'Malley and Eileen
