Barbi-Doll
July 21 2005 went to Rainbow Bridge. "Barbie Doll" Barbie was my angel on earth.
She brought joy to our lives, made
me smile every day. She had to be to make it through 10
years in a Missouri She fought this cancer hard and up to
the beginning of this 3/16/05
Barbie is doing very well. She is a wonderful happy little girl, she makes us smile each and every day! Barbie does have bladder cancer and has had an operation to remove ¾ of her bladder, but the cancer had already spread. In April in will be a year since she was diagnosed. Other then her incontinence and blood in her urine you would never know that she is sick. As long as she’s happy and not in pain, that’s what matters. Those of you who remember Barbie, she had that long beautiful blonde hair, well now we are keeping in short (makes clean-up easier when she has an accident in her sleep). I think the short haircut makes her look like a puppy even though we think she is about 12 years old. We are so happy that Ms. Barbie Doll has come into our lives. Thanks PMR, Michelle
Update June 2003
Hello everyone, Barbie is cured........and home Updated - 2/16/03 Barbie has been adopted. Here she is with her new mommy.
And her new friends.
Barbie has a wonderful disposition, she is crate trained and good with children but she is shy still do to all her past experiences. She is neither food aggressive nor dog aggressive. Her coat is coming in great and soon she will look like her Barbie self. All her surgeries have been completed except possibly one, and we feel that she is advancing great, what she needs is a mom with allot of TLC and a parent that is home most of the day. She doesn't mind being in her crate but if she has a choice she'd; like to be playing with the other guys. (Being her foster mom I feel that if she was placed soon it would lesson her stress and her personality would be able to come out more now she thinks were just going to pick on her or let her out and both of those do not excite her much.) Lisa (7-9 yr. old that is a complete guess because of med. problems) Good news's today.. vet report on Barbie's tumor she is cured!!!! Conclusions;
Mixed Mammary Adenoma, (UPDATE 8/11) Update 11/4 Barbie is not going blind. She had an eye infection that is being treated and they feel that she will not lose her sight. It is also found that Barbie has decided that she loves her freedom and NO LONGER needs the safety of the crate. This is common with some of the mill dogs as they had only known living in a cage. Since she has had her taste of freedom, she has decided that she prefers to NOT be crated. Barbie Doll WAS ON OUR WEB AS "Adopt Me Special Needs dogs. " Barbie Doll, we think she is a Lhasa and only about 6 years old. she will be a special needs pup, she was released untreated from the mill as she has mammary tumors as you can see from the picture.......we had her x-rayed and the vet can see no evidence of spread to other organs so we MAY? have caught her in time. She had a spay her tumors removed and
the umbilical hernia repaired this week.
This dog deserves the very best loving home, but you must understand their are no guarantees she will live a normal life span, we have had her tumors sent to be analyzed and will publish the results, the vet said he thought is was 85% positive they were cancerous tumors.
