Cubbie's Story.

My name is Cubbie and I’m three years old.  Until I was rescued, in June, I lived my entire life in a Missouri puppy mill cage.  But since then lots of good stuff has happened...  At first I lived for a while in a foster home, with Aunt Gail.  She is the one who actually selected ME to rescue.  She cleaned me up and then took me to the Vet for a checkup to make sure I was OK.  I really liked living at her house and running all around in the yard.

Then one day she told me I had to go on a long trip to my new home in Florida. We rode in her car for a long time until we met up with Melissa.  I was afraid to leave Aunt Gail and go with Melissa, but Aunt Gail told that everything would be fine.  I felt sad and confused about leaving. Then we got on a BIG airplane.  I was so scared.  But so was Melissa, because she had never flown before either!

When we arrived in Florida, Jean picked us up and took us home with her.  Wow, what a great place.  There were Yorkies everywhere, and a big swimming pool too!    A few days later I met my new Mom.  She wanted to pick me up and hold me but I was just too afraid to let her.  After about three hours of checking her out, from a safe distance, I got a little too close and she picked me up.  I tried to get away but she just held on tight and spoke to me until I stopped shaking.

A few hours later we were in Mom’s car eating McDonald’s French fries.  I only had a few, but they sure were good.  Many wonderful things have to me since then.  I love my new home and like to follow Mom everywhere.  We like to snuggle up together on the couch and in bed.   She gives me lots of kisses and says that I’m her special little Cubbie-Bear.  Gee, I never knew what I was missing until now.  What a life!

I had my third birthday 10/20/99 I do not like my HAT I feel sill, but its my first free birthday. YEAH!!!
