Hi Robin,
It's been a year since we took Lucky in to our home and I thought you
would
like an update on him. And on how the little guy is doing. Well, he is a
joy
to have around. You would say he is a happy go-lucky dog (he he). The
grand
kids call him "Rollie Pollie " because he likes to roll over on his back
to
get his belly scratched and as "Lucky Puppy" because he acts like a puppy,
always wanting to play.
There is not a mean bone in his body. All he wants is to be friends with
anybody and everybody.
As with this breed of dog, he makes a wonderful watchdog. I now have a job
as an assistant manager for a large store, which makes my schedule vary
from
morning to evening shifts through out the week. Lucky is the perfect
companion for my wife as he is always on guard to protect her. He lies
between Sally and the door always facing that exterior door.
Here are a few of his likes and dislikes that this strong willed guy has.
His number one love is to fetch and chase his ball around the house. He
would love to play that game all day long with anyone who would be
willing.
This summer he will be chasing that ball outside where I can throw it
further. Now that the weather is starting to warm, we take him for walks
where all those new smells can be found, and to make new friends along the
way both 2 legged and 4 legged ones. We are up to 4 miles a day and the
little guy is as tired as we are, after all he has twice as many legs as
we
do.
He does not like to ride in the truck and will start to drool. It must
remind him of some bad past experiences he had. As an intelligent dog, he
does possess a strong will and will display it on occasion. When he does -
we test our wills. I have found by touching our noses together and telling
him how disappointed I am in him - he relents and it's all over.
He is our Lucky puppy and will always be our Lucky Puppy.
I have attached a few Lucky pics for you to view.
Hugs to you both
Paul
