ROSE
What a gift to me- earning the love of a mill dog!!!

Look she fits!'
Do you think she is maybe a
little to big for this bed????:)

Bedtime with Rose is so much fun.
It's our special time of the
day. The other two pups sleep with my daughter so Rose and I get
some special alone time at bedtime. She is just a clown and as
Penny can tell you, Rose has a sense of humor!! So, every night
after I get the bed opened up, Rose runs right up to my pillow and
sits right where my head is planning to lay down. She wags her
tail, grins and just looks at me. She knows she is in my "spot". I
think she has decided this is a good way to assure herself of some
attention, since I can't lay down without going through her:):) So,
I look at her and say, "Rose, that's Mommy's spot, you are going to
have to move." The tail wags faster, the game is now afoot!! I
grab that silly little face, rub that little tummy, get a few kisses
from her and then Rose moves just far enough for me to slip into bed
and lay on the pillow. As I reach over to turn off the lamp, Rose
twirls around in the covers, and curls up into my side to fall
asleep!! She has only been curling up close to me at night for the
last week or so. As Rose's confidence grows, she has the freedom
to lay on the couch, run around the house, do what she wants. She
doesn't need to have me in sight for 24 hours a day. I think we are
now down to her only needing to see me for 22 hours a day:):) But
as her personality blossoms and she enjoys her freedom, part of that
freedom is her choosing to love me and be close to me every evening
at bedtime. It is our special time!! What a gift to me- earning
the love of a mill dog!!!

******************************************
Last night I had to be gone for a
little over 3 hours. I was a
little nervous because Rose has discovered the joy of chewing on
shoes!! And the strangest thing! She loves to go up to my
daughter's room, who at 13 of course has lots of clothes on the
floor at all times!!
Anyway, when we came home last night, it was just the cutest thing.
The dogs are always so happy when we come home and there is a lot of
barking and cuddling. Rose was so excited to see us, she just
couldn't contain herself! She came up for a quick lick and hug then
she took off at top speed running around the family room into the
kitchen, whizzing around the island and stopping back in front of
us, then whizzing off again with that pony gait of hers!! The other
two pups thought this was a great game and so we had three barking
pups whizzing around the family room, into the kitchen. It was so
much fun to see the happiness and joy in Rose!!! We just sat on the
floor and laughed!! A happy ending to a long day.
