Sammie and  Dandy's story

Hi, I’m Sammie the cute, little Yorkie; and this poodle is my best buddy.  Hi, I’m Dandy, a beautiful apricot toy Poodle.  We met at **** house after we were rescued from the most horrible places….puppymills.  You can’t imagine how we were forced to live.  Why if you saw the picture of us when we were first rescued, I bet it would be hard for you to recognize us now!!  We didn’t get very good food to eat and were never groomed (which at the time sounded great….no baths…but boy did we stink and became so matted!!)  They had to shave us down.  Now we finally are starting to look like a little Yorkie and a little Poodle.  Sammie - I spent 3 years in the puppymill and am still frightened by loud noises or sudden movements.  Sometimes I forget I’m not in the puppymill anymore and I still cower down to the floor when Mom and Dad reach for me.   But as soon as I realize it’s them….I’m excited!  Dandy – I have spent ALL 9 years of my life in a puppymill.  Nine…long…years!!  Boy was it horrible!! People were mean,  we had to fight over any scrap of food and the cages…..  I was glad the millers were finally through with me and sold me to a rescuer.  It was the very first time ANYONE had ever been kind to me.   That’s where I met Sammie and became super attached to him.  What a riot!!  He is so much fun to watch, so full of energy and he likes to do this “play” thing. ??  I don’t know how to do that yet, but I want to learn.  He sure seems to like it.  I’m also still real shy with people but since coming to live with my new Mom and Dad I’m getting better.  It is so hard to trust humans after what I have been through, but I’m trying.  In fact I will always have the scar on my nose to remind me of the puppymill life.  I can’t remember if I got it fighting for a scrap of food or if a human hit or kicked me in the face.  And I only have 4 teeth left, the rest were so rotten they had to be pulled.  I’m trying to forget all of the things that I suffered through in the mill.  I do have one thing to brag about though; I have learned to wag my tail!!  Everyone seems to think that is really cool!  But I still need to be around Sammie, he’s my bud.  And now we also have a sister, Gidget.  She is a beautiful yorkie.  We love our new family.  We get lots of love and attention, toys (something I never knew about before) and there is so much room to run around.  And this green stuff they have outside is awesome!! We just LOVE to lay in it, except when it thunders!! :o((  Both of us HATE loud noises.  But Mom and Dad help us through those times.  They have this thing called “cuddle time” and they like to do this ALOT !!  We love it!  No more tiny cages, only nice, soft, comfortable stuff.  Mom and Dad say we are adopted and we think that is GREAT!  We are SO-O-O lucky.  All of you reading our story should adopt.  Please help get our friends out of the puppymills.  There are still SO many left and they deserve to know humans can be loving.  We also want to send a BIG “THANK YOU” to all of you who played a part in helping us reach our new home!

Sloppy doggy kisses to you all!!!   Luv, Sammie and Dandy
