Thank you PMR for saving
one more! My name is Sweet Lily. I'm not sure how old
I am yet-maybe 7 or 8,

Hello-
Sweet Lily here to tell you how much progress I have made and how much I
love being FREE! I have grown in a beautiful shiny new fur and put on
some weight, but I am still a very petite beagle at . 15lbs. I am very
good with dogs and cats, but I need an adult home with a fenced yard
because I am still easily frightened of noises and rapid hand movements.
I was rescued in December of 06 after living all of my life in a wire
cage with wire under my feet and having babies all the time. I had
several malignant mammary tumors removed and I am doing just fine now. I
had a very hard life with many scars on my ears and face to prove it.
From living on the wires, my pads on my feet have fur where there should
be pad in some places so I do best with grass/carpet or flooring under
my feet (not concrete). I would not be a gal for long walks on the
sidewalk unless I had some sort of booties to wear--and so I am not r
eally leash trained very well yet. I am getting better at my potty
habits, I do very well with a routine, but I can also use a pp pad at
night. I still don't know how to let FM know that I have to go...so we
are working on that one. Over my life at the mill, I developed a habit
of moving slowly while I poop and piddle (so that it didn't hurt my feet
as much when I was on the wire floor). I wag my tail so hard my whole
butt moves! But I am still fearful of hands and objects that might be
overhead. I do best when my humans come down to my level and put out
their hand under my chin for a scratch! I have learned lots of things
since my freedom began: I learned to climb up on the couch and the big
bed; I learned how wonderful chewies are; I can tolerate the vacuum and
the washing machine noises. I love to be petted and scratched, but I'm
still cautious being held, even if my FM does give me cookies for doing
it ! I am not a barker, although I think I'm pretty cute at dinner time
when I bark once or twice and wag like crazy! I'm content to snooze most
of the day. At first I followed my FM everywhere, now I know it's ok to
stay snoozing and that she will come back.
I love being here with my beagle pals, but I would love my very own
forever home! If you would like to know if you could be my forever
family, please email my foster mom for more information contact saveadog@comcast.net

Puppy Mills Breed Misery
Boycott stores that sell puppies

Hi, I just sent a PAL donation for Lily
(Adopt me 6A). This is from my two 1 y/o puppies JoJo and Jessie
in hopes that Lily will feel better and learn how to be loved
and no afraid. I recently submitted my application to be a
foster mom, and hope I can help out. I live in South Carolina
and would love to be a foster mom to a rescue dog. I have two
loving, gentle and submissive matlese dogs who I'm certain could
help a rescue dog learn to be loved and unafraid.
Thanks for all the work you are doing to rescue puppy mill dogs.
Sincerely, Maggie
