A HOME AT LAST
Hi, my name is Millie and I have finally got a place to call home with a Mommy that loves me and gives me lots of hugs and kisses. My Mommy drove all the way from Kentucky to Missouri to get me. That's how much she wanted me.
Although I cannot see what my Mommy looks like because I am totally blind, I know that she loves me, she tells me so everyday. Mommy thinks I'm special! When Mommy saw my picture on the Puppy Mill web site she knew that I might not be adopted because of my blindness. A lot of people wouldn't want me because they think I would be too much trouble.
My Mommy knows that's not true. I can find my way around just fine and I'm no trouble at all. Well, almost! I did find a hole in the fence that no one knew was there. You see, it was like this! It was a sunny day and we were all outside playing. Mommy was in the barnyard taking pictures of our new baby horse. I missed Mommy so I started checking out the fence. Well, I found a hole and got out I went straight to my Mommy. I might not be able to see, but I can hear just fine. I heard Mommy talking to Kayed the baby horse, so I followed her voice and found her. Boy, was she surprised to see me.
Even though we live in the country my Mommy feels safer if we are fenced in. I have five new brothers and one sister to play with, and not one of them found that hole.
But I sure did! Anyway, Mommy fixed the fence.
I sleep with Mommy and every night at bedtime we all get a jerky treat. I sure get spoiled here. I never knew how it felt to lay in a soft bed, or be loved by someone. In a Puppy Mill no one cares if you are sad, sick, hurt, or dying. They just ignore you. I am one of the lucky ones. I was rescued and found a loving home, but I will never forget where I came from. I pray every night for all the others still left in the horrible place. I pray that they too will be rescued and that someday there will be no more Puppy Mills to be saved from.
Well, that's my story. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my life, it is a happy ending for me, unlike so many other. I leave you with one request. Please help save my brothers and sisters from that terrible place. If everyone would adopt just one, we all could be saved.
GOD BLESS US ALL
Millie
