Adopt Me Page 19a features Victoria and Madeline

Back Home Next

Madeline is an 12 year old, blonde short hair Chihuahua.
She is doing so much better since she was freed a year
ago. When she was released, she wore a worried look on
her little face all the time. That worried look is gone
now, and she runs and plays with the best of them. She
weighs about 8 pounds and needs to lose a pound or two.
She has trouble with arthritis in her legs, so being
heavy is not helping her. That being said, she loves to
eat and will clean up her pal Victoria's plate if she
doesn't watch out! I have been making her walk in the
back yard as much as possible, which should help her
trim down.

Madeline does not walk on a leash. We have tried and
will keep on trying, but this gal does not like it at all.
That being said, she will need a fenced in yard. She will
go potty outside and will use a potty pad inside. She is
a fair weather dog, but is getting braver when it rains
outside. It is funny, on rainy days, she makes a beeline
to the door, and then stops dead in her tracks when she
sees the rain. You can see her thinking if it is a good
idea to go out or not. Winter months are coming, and I
am anxious to see what she does. Last winter, she
pottied on the potty pads unless the sun was shining.

Madeline does not like to be held. I do make a point of
holding her a couple times a day, some more than others,
but she stiffens like a board, and does not enjoy it.
She does love to be petted though and will sit in your
lap or beside you for as long as you like.

One trait of Madeline's that we are working on, is that
she barks non stop whenever someone moves. I don't
know why. We do not have alot of traffic in our house,
but if I get up or Chris comes into the room, the
barking starts. It is almost like a defense mechanism
with her. Some days are better than others. She is
still very shy and will sit with her best friend Victoria
when anyone new comes over.

Madeline was rescued with another little Chihuahua,
Victoria. They are the bestest of friends. I would
really like it if they could get adopted together.
Sometime when a dog is rescued with another, they do
stick to that one because it is like a safety net for
them. Then as time goes on, they get more independent.
This has not happened with Madeline. She watches
Victoria all the time, and will follow whatever she does.

If you have a quiet household, no children please, with a
mom and/or a dad, Madeline would fit in just fine. Any
questions can be directed to me, her FM at
jansencynthia@yahoo.com. I will gladly answer any
questions you may have.

We live in Upstate NY.

Noselicks coming from Maddy

Victoria is an 11 year old, long hair Chihuahua. She is a
very, very pretty little girl. Very dainty features and
legs. Her hair is beautiful, wavy and very thick.
Victoria has been free for about 1 year now. She got
rescued with her friend Madeline.

Victoria is a shy little girl, but will come up for pets
and hugs. Being held is not one of her favorite
pasttimes, but will snuggle in once you hold her. She is
a lap baby and loves her belly rubbed. I think that
Victoria could be a player. She will play bow with me
outside. Will run and then come back and run out again,
but I have not seen her play with any of the other pups.
Could be just that she never had the opportunity, and
doesn't know what to do. She does like a nylabone or
two, and you can find one in her bed usually.

Victoria will potty outside or on a potty pad. She is
like Madeline and would prefer nice weather when she
is outside. She really does not like cold weather at all.

Victoria tends to be the leader in her relationship with
Madeline. She will venture in the yard on her own. But
does run quickly to Madeline's side if anyone new comes
around. It would be wonderful if Victoria and Madeline
could get adopted together.

If you have a warm, cozy home for Victoria, please no
children, push that adopt button. And remember, good
things come in two's! If you have any questions, please
email me, her FM, at jansencynthia@yahoo.com I will
answer any questions you may have.

Tail wags,

Victoria and her FM Cindy
